Jeff, Cheryl et al,
Regarding 1.5 – I have an edit that should be universal where applicable to our current protocol for comments on the call versus public comments (as commented on the call):
Though the Working Group (this should say Work Track 1 instead of Working Group) discussed a number of different possible alternative approaches, there was no agreement on any alternatives to the 2012; namely
that all applications should incur the same base application fee amount regardless of the type of application or the number of applications that the same applicant submits.[1]
This would not preclude the possibility of additional fees in certain circumstances (e.g., objections, Registry Service Evaluation Process, etc.).
An additional Question for Public Comment should be added to this section which is implied by this preliminary recommendation:
Should additional fees be added for certain aspects of application processing? For example, should additional fees apply when objections are made or when an application proposes new services that require a Registry
Service Evaluation Process? Should additional fees apply where more than one application is received for the same string and an auction process becomes necessary?
Thank you,
Anne
