Re: [Gnso-ppsai4] Draft Report v. 2
Thanks Victoria. The draft report, which has come to being through Kathy's herculean efforts in a short amount of time, is still a draft. The purpose of our call in a few minutes will be to edit it for substantive content as well as tone. I look forward to walking through the document with you and the others in a few, and I thank Kathy for taking up the pen on this to get us started. Subject: Re: [Gnso-ppsai4] Draft Report v. 2 based on first blush, i disagree with the tone and emphasis in this report, and in particularly how much time is spent addressing 1 comment. While I agree that concerns raised by womens rights groups and others about potential/likely harassment and personal safety concerns if their information is disclosed are valid and must be taken into account, and that the PPSAI should include protections to mitigate those real concerns. the comment this summary focuses on is an critique of whois generally, and does not appear to comment on the protections recommended in the PPSAI report. It's over-emphasis here is inappropriate. i also feel our description of the comments should be neutral, and leave the discussion of views to the general working group. this draft doesn't make that mark yet. Hi All, Attached please find a draft summarizing our report (version 2). To put it together, I reviewed Categories E, F and G of our template and summarized them in bullets (as I did for categories A-D). I've also created a space for placing our recommendations to the WG, e.g., what we think might be done with the useful comments we received. Paul is taking a first crack at these recommendations tonight.
If you have a minute, we would appreciate your review: a) to ensure that the Report includes the comments you found important and important for future WG action; b) general readability, and c) to develop recommendations of next steps for the WG and other subteams.
I look forward to our subteam call tomorrow at 07:30 PDT, 10:30 EDT, 15:30 London, 1630 CET.
