Lisa, Thanks for this update. It would be interesting to understand why these reports take so much time. Or, perhaps a better question is what data can be provided automatically? The formatting is nice, but, at least speaking for myself, we are probably capable of reading and interpreting the data in whatever form it is provided. Further, if the data is in a machine readable format, we can probably wrangle it into whatever format we want. Hello Standing Committee,
On our 26 August call, the Standing Committee asked ICANN staff to share how long it takes to produce the monthly RDRS Usage Metrics Report.
Report creation is manual and requires adding images and creating the tables that show monthly numbers since launch for the relevant metrics, updating the list of participating registrars and DUMs calculation, as well as creating the summary of data table and csv. This takes approximately 20 hours to prepare each month.
If the Standing Committee were to agree to publishing the RDRS Usage Metrics Report on a quarterly basis, ICANN can still provide the Standing Committee with the summary of data CSV on a monthly basis. This table takes approximately 3 hours to prepare each month.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Best,
Lisa Carter
