RDRS Standing Committee,

Sarah makes a good point.  We are recommending that the RDRS continue to operate at least until a successor system is in place.  We are also recommending that ICANN undertake enhancements to the RDRS in several areas, perhaps most notably around potential authentication work.  Given that, it makes sense to recommend to the GNSO council that the standing committee be maintained for purposes of advising ICANN on the continued operation, maintenance, and potential enhancement of the RDRS.

The primary purpose of the Standing Committee has been to consider the lessons learned from the pilot and provide recommendations to council on what to do next.  Secondary to that we’ve also provided that advisory function to ICANN.  I’d support an additional recommendation to maintain the standing committee with a narrowed scope of advising ICANN on the continued operation, maintenance, and potential enhancement of the RDRS while it continues to be in operation.

Hi team,

Thinking about how change requests and suggested enhancements to the RDRS are managed between when the report is published and when whatever it is that the Board decides should be next (without anticipating what that decision will be) goes live.

I understand that this Standing Committee's work is complete when the report is published. So who makes those decisions after that?

This may be an important topic to speak to in our recommendations? Or it may be already known/decided and I just don't have the info.
