Sebastien, you did good stuff here.  I like your work enabling the ICANN data to auto-populate future graphs.

I made some additions to your work (my edits in Blue Text), and moved your graphs to separate tabs, then used some of your data sets to generate graphs and put them in those tabs.  Pls see attached.

On next call, for discussion on this topic,

  1. I’d like to propose we (Standing Committee we) ask if ICANN Org can in future reporting clarify Metric 10 (pertaining to Domain Lookups) to show values and not just %s, and further to show those values for the Current Period as well as for Total.   Below I reverse engineer these #s.   These figures are necessary to show the start-to-end of requests, giving a “Big Picture View” like so:
  2. I ask the Standing Committee whether/not we value knowing the “request outcome” broken down by “Requestor category”? Insights like this could be reviewed, but require us as a group asking for more granular level (non-PII) source data.

Pls find below the “Big Picture” graph as I’d calculated in recent months, here displaying April ~  (pls note requests made in April != requests closed in April).

Cheers,

G

Dear Standing Committee and Team,

Attached are my first 2 attempts are representing our data using Gab’s Sankey tool.

  • Columns A to D is the report as shared by Staff
  • Column E is my take at synthetising labels to better fit the graphs
  • Columns F to P is the graph data to copy/paste into the Sankey online tool: https://sankeymatic.com/build/
Each box is a single graph’s data set paired in current and total data.

For example to generate the below:

A diagram of a diagram

Description automatically generated

Copy the content of O27:O38 and paste it in the “Inputs:” window of the Sankey tool (removing and replacing the default content).

Before we look at automate the generation of graphs, can I ask the group to try and test the ones I prepared and see what is and isn’t relevant.

Kindly,
