During Tuesday's WG call, efforts to finalize the draft statement of
purpose will commence with consideration of proposed purpose #5 "A
purpose of RDS is to provide an authoritative source of accurate
data."
Recognizing that diverse points of view have already been expressed on
this proposed purpose, the leadership team suggests the following
alterative phrasing for WG member consideration and comment, both on-list
today and during the WG call: #5 "A purpose of RDS is to promote the
availability of accurate gTLD registration data."

Purpose. To maximize our efficiency in our meeting this coming
Tuesday, it would be very helpful if everyone reviewed the redline
version that Marika distributed and shared any comments on the WG list
before the meeting on Tuesday.

Dear All,
In this week’s WG call for our main agenda item we focused on the last
section of the Draft Registration Data and Directory Service Statement
of Purpose, ‘Specific Purposes for Registration Data and
Registration Directory Service’. Please review and comment on the 5
purpose statements in that section with particular attention to the
redline changes made on the call. Please express any concerns you
have on the WG list before our next WG meeting on October
25th. Note that we didn’t finish discussing purpose 5 so we
will continue discussing it on our call next week; in the meantime, list
discussion is strongly encouraged.
