All, This posting may just expose a blind side in my knowledge, but I would like to ask: * Is there is an organization of Registrar's, outside ICANN, that collectively carries on discussions with the EU and other national government Data Protection Agencies? * Is there a particular forum, public or private, in which that dialogue takes place, or is within efforts that are mainly one-on-one? Sam A lot of registrars (and registries) are members of Eco or The Internet Infrastructure Coalition and Thomas Rickert via Eco has been doing a lot of work with contracted parties in this GDPR mess. To date we have not been formally engaged with DPAs via Eco / i2C ICANN, as you can see from their updates, has been conducting bilateral discussions with various bodies. Some registrars have been discussing matters with their DPAs and / or relevant government departments. Disclosure: I am the Chair of The Internet Infrastructure Coalition and involved in a lot of the other things too (see: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mneylon/ ) Regards Michele -- Mr Michele Neylon Blacknight Solutions Hosting, Colocation & Domains https://www.blacknight.com/ http://blacknight.blog/ Intl. +353 (0) 59 9183072 Direct Dial: +353 (0)59 9183090 Personal blog: https://michele.blog/ Some thoughts: https://ceo.hosting/ ------------------------------- Blacknight Internet Solutions Ltd, Unit 12A,Barrowside Business Park,Sleaty Road,Graiguecullen,Carlow,R93 X265,Ireland Company No.: 370845 From: Sam Lanfranco <sam@lanfranco.net> Date: Thursday 15 February 2018 at 14:13 To: RDS PDP WG <gnso-rds-pdp-wg@icann.org> Cc: Michele Neylon <michele@blacknight.com> Subject: Re: [gnso-rds-pdp-wg] ICANN Update on GDPR All, This posting may just expose a blind side in my knowledge, but I would like to ask: * Is there is an organization of Registrar's, outside ICANN, that collectively carries on discussions with the EU and other national government Data Protection Agencies? * Is there a particular forum, public or private, in which that dialogue takes place, or is within efforts that are mainly one-on-one?
