The Call for Volunteers for the SPIRT Leadership Team closed last Friday, 21 November. We greatly appreciate all those that have applied for the roles and for the
high level of interest you have shown in this opportunity. We greatly appreciate your enthusiasm and the time taken to submit your names.
These are the names we have so far

Volunteers for Vice-Chair
(Some names overlap with Chair volunteers. Vice-Chair appointments will be determined after the Chair position is finalized)
First of all, if we have unintentionally missed any names, kindly let us know
by Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at 23:59 UTC.
Second, in light of the large number of applicants exceeding available seats (i.e., a single Chair and two Vice-Chairs), we are conducting a final review to ensure that all submissions
still wish to remain under consideration. If anyone would like to withdraw their name at this stage, kindly inform us by
Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at 23:59 UTC,
so we can update our list accordingly.

Next, we kindly ask that the applicants first work collaboratively to reduce the list, ideally all the way down to the allotted positions per the SPIRT Charter.
If the applicants cannot come to agreement amongst themselves by Monday, 1 December,
we will proceed with a voting process on Tuesday, 2 December, to determine the final selections by the Kick-off Meeting (scheduled for 4 December – please see calendar invite).

Our first order of business is to select our Leadership – One Chair and up to Two Vice-Chairs per the Charter [gnso.icann.org]:
“The Chair of the SPIRT is a volunteer position, filled and selected by the SPIRT from amongst its members and confirmed by the GNSO Council. The SPIRT may also select up to two Vice-Chairs, also from amongst its members, which does not require GNSO Council confirmation. The leadership team shall serve a two-year term, with the role being reviewed by the GNSO Council every two years.”
Accordingly, this email serves as a Call for Volunteers for the Chair and Vice-Chair(s) positions of the SPIRT. Please respond to this email on the SPIRT list if you would like to volunteer, and/or if you would like to nominate someone in the Team by Friday, 21 November 2025, at 23:59 UTC. The volunteers will be put forward to the list and confirmed by non-objection. Subsequently, the confirmed names of the Chair and Vice-Chair(s) shall be submitted to the GNSO Council for formal confirmation at its meeting on Thursday, 11 December 2025, at 21:00 UTC.
If the SPIRT should need more time to choose its Chair/Vice-Chair(s), this motion can be deferred to the GNSO Council’s January Meeting. In addition, should multiple applications be received for the leadership role(s), we propose that the candidates seek a suitable solution amongst themselves or if unable to do so, hold a team vote through a doodle poll. In any event, we would like to ideally complete this process by the end of year so that the SPIRT is ready for action from the beginning of the new year (January 2026).
Next, an email has already been sent to you with a Doodle poll to help us schedule a 60-minute Kick-off Meeting. Please also complete the Doodle poll by Friday, 21 November 2025, at 23:59 UTC. Once the Kick-off Meeting is scheduled, a draft agenda will be sent to the list.
