Hi Renata,

My understanding is that the group agreed to a 1-year term, renewable for a second year. The SSC can specify in the motion that goes with the revised charter that it considers the period up until AGM 2017 to be a “ramp up” period. The first term therefore runs between AGM 2017 through AGM 2018, with the option of a 1-year renewal.

In the original charter, the possibility was left open that some members would serve longer terms, so that membership could be staggered. I believe the group agreed that this will not be necessary, as processes are well documented at this point, so it should be relatively easy for new SSC members to come in and pick up where departing members have left off.

I thought there would be a note that the original members had their 1 year counted after charter approval.

There seems to be even a mention of 3 years. 

I do not oppose 1 year term, removable for 2 years.

But I wonder if something got lost in communication regarding that note of original members term count
