As briefly shared during the last meeting on 30 July 2025, the Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the GNSO Members to serve on the Review of Reviews Cross Community Group (RoR CCG) ended yesterday, Monday, 11 August. We received a total of 5 candidates.

 

The poll for this selection process is now OPEN and will CLOSE on Monday, 18 August 2025 at 23:59 UTC. Kindly complete the survey using the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5QBD2X8

When conducting the survey, please bear in mind that, according to the Council Motion for RoR CCG—pending confirmation by the Council this Thursday, 14 August—at least one (1) of the two (2) members must be a GNSO Council Member. Kindly refer to the motion here. The pending “Resolved” clause from the motion is as follows:

  1. The GNSO Council directs the Standing Selection Committee to promptly proceed with the identification and selection of two (2) GNSO member participants of the CCG, at least one of whom should be a GNSO council member, for the approval of the GNSO Council. In making its selections the SSC should bear in mind all aspects of the Charter, and including the timing expectations for this work and the expectations that individual members:
  • Have sufficient expertise and understanding of the ICANN reviews to participate in the discussions; 
  • Commit to actively participate in the activities of the CCG on an ongoing basis; and 
  • Where appropriate, solicit and communicate the views and concerns of individuals in the group that nominates them. 

 

Among the current candidates, there are three (3) Council Members, and they are: Osvaldo Novoa, Lawrence Olawale-Roberts, and Hong-Fu (Tom) Meng. This information is also available for you within the survey.

 

As per usual, kindly note that the survey is intended as a discussion guide and not as a means of making a final determination. However, your participation is highly valued, as your input will provide helpful insights into the views of SSC members and support the decision-making process when the SSC convenes on Wednesday, 20 August 2025 at 20:00 UTC, to discuss the candidates.
