Dear SSC members,

 

The GNSO Council has tasked the SSC with conducting a selection process and recommending a candidate to serve as GNSO Council Liaison to the anticipated Operational Design Phase (ODP) for the New gTLD Subsequent Procedures Policy Development Process Working Group (SubPro). Staff is sharing the below information on behalf of the SSC leadership team to get everyone up to speed on the assignment.

 

An announcement about the Expression of Interest process will be published tomorrow here: https://gnso.icann.org/en/news/announcements. Information about the EOI process will also be sent to SG/C leaders and the Council list to help with spreading the word about the opportunity. The text of the announcement and the application form are attached for your reference.  Here is a proposed timeline for the assignment:

• 31 Aug - 21 Sep: Expression of Interest process is open
• 22 Sep - 16 Oct: SSC completes selection process
• 17 Oct: Document deadline for October Council meeting
• 27 Oct: GNSO votes on SSC selection

We will be scheduling an SSC meeting in mid-September to go over the details of the assignment and discuss the SSC’s approach. In the interim, the following resources provide some additional background:
