Best wishes for a good start to 2022.

As you may recall, shortly before the holiday break the GNSO extended the deadline for Expressions of Interest for the GNSO Nominated Mentor for the ICANN Fellowship Program. Therefore, we will need to adjust the timeline for the SSC selection process, as well. The leadership team would like to suggest the following:

7 December 2021: Launch Fellowship Mentor EOI
14 January 2022: New deadline for Fellowship Mentor EOI
15 January 2022: Launch poll for SSC members complete on Fellowship Mentor candidates
Week of 24 January 2022 and/or 31 January 2022: SSC meeting(s) to discuss Fellowship Mentor candidates (members should complete poll at least 24 hours before the meeting)
8 February 2022: Motion Deadline for February GNSO meeting – placeholder motion possible
17 February 2022: Last day to submit name(s) of recommended candidate(s)
18 February 2022: GNSO Council meeting – Council confirms candidate recommended by SSC

25 February 2022: Deadline for the GNSO to submit name to the Fellowship Program

Absent any concerns, staff will circulate a doodle poll to find a time for us to meet in late January.

The leadership team will continue to provide updates about any applications we receive as they come in.
