Hi Jothan,

Just to clarify—and apologies if this was not clear—the SSC only needs to evaluate the 19 GNSO candidates and those are listed in a table on the wiki at: https://community.icann.org/display/GSSC/Pilot+Holistic+Review+-+2024. The other candidates are from other SO/ACs, which I presume have their own selection processes.  We can drop the table in a Google sheet if that is helpful.

Kind regards,
Julie

Hi Julie-

OK thank you for the clarification.

Given there are 67 candidates, all with variation in responses, geography, SO/AC, all of the submissions seem to have PDF generated from a common form... I wonder... Are the results from the submission forms captured into a spreadsheet and if so that the group could use that spreadsheet for review instead of picking through 67 individual PDF?

I think, given the volume of the candidates, that using an approach where we can see everything together in one place with filter/sorting options per field such as in a google sheet would improve our consistency and pace of our work production and improve our results.

Is it possible to share the form results with the group as a spreadsheet?

Hi Jothan,

Thank you for your thorough review of the materials and important questions! To your question as to whether the GNSO is “looking to leverage our cycles in the process of that narrowing activity?” – that is precisely the role of the SSC.  The SSC will use a survey poll and a subsequent meeting on 01 July to select from the 19 candidates the 7 that it will put forward as the recommended nominees for the Council to confirm at its meeting on 18 July (with the motion due on 08 July).

I hope that this is helpful, but further questions are welcome – either before, during, or after Monday’s meeting 😊

Have a great weekend and looking forward to speaking to everyone on Monday.

Kind regards,

Saewon and Julie

As I dug in a bit more and I looked more closely at the (impressive, lengthy) list of candidates, I notice that there is an opportunity to narrow the list within each respective SO/AC as nominees.

Are we to do our review after they do their work, or is it something that they are looking to leverage our cycles in the process of that narrowing activity?

Hi all,

In preparation for Monday’s meeting – and thanks again to Jothan – here is the wiki link with the list of the GNSO candidates added: https://community.icann.org/display/GSSC/Pilot+Holistic+Review+-+2024.  In the forthcoming evaluation poll the SSC may select no more than 7 of the 19 candidates.  The poll will include a ranking mechanism to facilitate the choices.

Kind regards,

Saewon and Julie

Hi Jothan,

Thanks for your very helpful sleuthing 😊  I was waiting for official confirmation to the GNSO leadership, but this works as well.  I will link this to the wiki and we’ll incorporate the candidates into the evaluation poll tool, which we will open after the kick-off meeting.

Kind regards,

Saewon and Julie

Thanks, Julie...

In doing some pre-review, I went to look for the candidate list for the Pilot Holistic Review (PHR), and it appears that the list of PHR candidates is available at this URL, in case it helps any of the rest of the group:
