Thanks Karen
Yes, I think this suggestion should have helped us to narrow down our search.

Putting everyone on the slate again will definitely draw us backwards.

What I think @Mike should have done is to also suggest names outside the Survey Monkey outcome, then staff can note that, and list them along by your suggestion.

Regards.

Hi everyone,  Based on what's in the new spreadsheet Saewon has circulated, and what we discussed on the call today, I would like to suggest that we have staff circulate another survey monkey with only the ranking section and with only these top 13 candidates' names listed.  We would each rank this group only and then see who is in the top seven spots.  In these 13 candidates we have every region represented.  I would submit that it would then be up to the individual committee member to decide what criteria influences their rankings.

I would ask that these rankings be submitted by 23:00 on Friday to allow staff time to tabulate the results prior to our call on Monday.

For those members who did not respond to the first survey and weren't on the call today, please do listen to the recording and review these materials so that you can participate in this ranking activity.  Your participation is vital to our mission.

Thanks!

Subject: [Gnso-ssc] Suggested List of Candidates (with Notes) | SSC - Pilot Holistic Review candidates evaluation call | Monday, 01 July 2024

EXTERNAL

Dear SSC members,

Per our call today, please find the google spreadsheet that contains the votes during the call and ranking that follows: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P9XZ3hd0J6GfaOpStV92zSpWDkqXwl7rmatNfwS07uU/edit?usp=sharing

Some points to note from the spreadsheet ranking:

  • The order of names (No. in A column) is in the order of ranking from today’s call.
  • The Top 9 (until Ranking 7) have 3 votes, and the Top 13 (until Ranking 10) have 2 votes. (I could not cut the Top 10 and/or the Top 12 due to the identical number of votes)
  • The column J in red shows the poll results to compare to: In ranking 7’s, Marie Pattullo overlaps with the Poll result; In ranking 10’s there are no overlapping candidates.
  • Mark Datysgeld that ranked 3rd in the Poll Result is excluded in the call ranking today based on the discussions (i.e., previous SSC appointee)

Other than the spreadsheet with rankings to help the members with the decision, kindly find the attached survey results, that were also shared in the meeting, for your reference.

Below, you will also find the notes/details from the meeting to help you in your decision-making process.

Kind regards,

Julie and Saewon.

  • How should the evaluation process proceed was discussed, and a suggestion was to select the top 10, then drop to 7 (or top 12) based on the region, participation, recent project, etc.
