Best regards, Saewon SSC Meeting on Wednesday, 20 August 2025 at 20:00 UTC 1.⁠ ⁠Welcome & SOIs * Beth Marty joined as a temporary member from the RrSG to aid the process due to a conflict of interest. 2.⁠ GNSO Members for the Review of Reviews Cross Community Group (RoR CCG) Candidates Evaluation * GNSO Council requested at the Council meeting that 1 of the 2 members should be a sitting GNSO Councilor. * The survey opened 12 August and closed 18 August with 8 responses (higher than usual) with one response after the deadline (should not affect final decision) as survey does not determine the outcome. a. Review of Survey Results * Survey results were shared via email prior to the meeting and can also be accessed via the wiki page: https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/x/AQAEG * 5 Candidates with 3 Councilors and 2 non-Councilors: Sophie Hey ranked overall number 1, 2 being Osvaldo Novoa, and 3 being Lawrence Olawale-Roberts. * Responses: All files can be reviewed from the wiki page for a more detailed response. Both Councilors are seen as strong candidates. b. Discussion and Selection of Candidates * Sophie Hey was confirmed as the first selection. * Discussion continued for the remaining seat (for a serving Councilor) between Osvaldo and Lawrence—Votes were evenly split for each candidate: 3 votes for Osvaldo, 3 votes for Lawrence. In the end, an additional member voted for Osvaldo, which brought the total votes in closer alignment with the survey result. * Osvaldo Navoa was confirmed as the second selection. 3.⁠ ⁠Next Steps - Timing of Consensus Call & GNSO Council Confirmation * Staff discussed next steps on the calendar linked here: https://icann-community.atlassian.net/wiki/x/W4AdG * Council will be confirming selections at the September Council meeting. 4.⁠ ⁠AOB * A question was raised whether there are any foreseeable duties for the SSC.
