Subject: [gtld-tech] Unusual update volumes for .site and .online zone files

[EXTERNAL EMAIL] Please use caution when opening attachments from unrecognised sources.

Recently we have seen elevated levels of new domains added to .online
and .site, which triggered some internal monitoring here.

Checking the addition counts for the last few months, we see a gap from
around March 17 to April 12 during which *no* domains were added,
followed by three days with levels of additions 2-5x "normal" levels
(i.e. pre March 17), as if it was catching up with a backlog.

Has anybody else see this and/or knows what happened there? Did they
move to a different operator?

Joe Wein
