RDAP session in Marrakech
Dear colleagues, We are having a RDAP session in Marrakech on Monday, 7 March from 13:30 to 14:45 UTC. We plan to host a discussion on the open issues. The session page is at https://meetings.icann.org/en/marrakech55/schedule/mon-rdap-implementation There is going to be remote participation if you cannot make it to the meeting in person. HI Francisco Is there any reason this has to be held at the same time as TechDay? There are only a limited number of technical sessions at ICANN meetings and it should be perfectly possible to schedule them so that they do not conflict. Paul, Jaques, Jay, and Michele, I'm sorry for this, however, as you can probably imagine there is no "good slot" available. Even the original slot we had on Thursday morning had conflicts (e.g., SSAC Public Meeting, Registrar Roundtable: Implementing Recent Transfer Policy Changes, RySG-DNA Registry-Registrar Operations Working Group). We changed the session to Monday recognizing the interest that the topic had gathered; Monday is ICANN's high-interest topics day. We are hoping that moving it to Monday would give us a better slot and more time to talk if we need to have further discussions, e.g., during the registry and/or registrar stakeholder meetings. For what is worth, we are also going to be briefing the gNSO on RDAP on Sunday morning. So just to be clear - you’ve made the decision, you’ve had community feedback that this is very bad time and your response is that you’re not changing and we’re lucky to even get this as the alternatives were worse? Who do I escalate this to?

I talked with Jay on the phone and I think we clarified things (Jay feel free to correct me). Jay suggested I explained to the list so that everyone has a better understanding on the contents of the Monday session. The session we have scheduled on Monday is not about the technical details of the profile. At this point the open issues we have are of non-technical nature, e.g., whether registrars have to offer a RDAP service or not, differentiated access, and the new fields in the registry RDDS (e.g., registrar expiration date). If there is interest on discussing the technical bits of the profile I'll be more than happy to do so in the ccNSO tech day or some other meeting.
