The public comments period for the second draft of the guidelines closed on 16 Dec. 

1. We have received eight (8) comments.  Kindly review the detailed comments at https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/comments-idn-guidelines-19oct17/2017q4/thread.html.
2. Please also find attached a summary of the public comments received.  Please suggest any edits or additions.
3. I will schedule weekly calls from the second week of January at the regular day and time of IDNGWG calls (Thursdays @ UTC 1100) to review the comments and finalize the guidelines. Hope that will work.  However, feel free to share any feedback in this regard.

Subject: Public Comment extension request

Dear IDNGWG members, 

The Public Comment for IDN Guidelines closed on 10 Dec. We have received many comments (see https://www.icann.org/public-comments/idn-guidelines-2017-10-19-en). 

However, we have also received a request from NCSG requesting the extension till this Friday.  I hope it will be ok to extend the PC till then.  I will work to summarize the comments in the meantime and share a summary report soon afterwards.

Would you like to schedule a call to consider these comments before the holidays, or should I schedule a call in the second week of January onwards?  Please advise.
