Dear IFRT:

#1. Your Initial Report is now up for Public Comment at: https://www.icann.org/public-comments/ifr-initial-report-2020-10-08-en

The Public Comment will end on 02 December 2020.  We’d like to encourage you to discuss with your respective SOs/ACS about submitting a comment.

#2. During ICANN69, Tomslin will be leading a public session about the IFRT’s work on Thursday, 22 October 2020 at 07:00 UTC.  Session information: https://community.icann.org/display/ifr/IANA+Naming+Function+Review  If you are able to attend, please register for ICANN69 first. Then click on this session link and in the upper left hand corner, under the session title, you can choose ADD TO CALENDAR.

#3. NEXT STEPS: After the Public Comment I will be preparing a Comment Report that gathers all the comments and groups them.  Then the IFRT will review the comments, determine if there are any appropriate edits to the Report, and add a section to the report regarding the comments collected.  There will be no IFRT meetings during October and November, as the Public Comment does not end until 02 Dec.  Prior to December I will coordinate with the co-Chairs on what will be the most appropriate week to resume Plenary Calls.

The Public Comment and ICANN69 Session have been posted on the IFR wiki.

Regards,
