Hello Jeff and everyone,
As Karen is out on leave this week, I will check in with my other colleagues to see when we will be circulating an updated document to the IRT for your review and a next meeting. I note Karen’s message earlier that the team believes our
work remains on track as well.
Regarding your second question, I’ll clarify that Curative Rights policy implementation and the work of this IRT is not part of the planned agenda for today’s call between the Board’s IGO Caucus Group and the GNSO Council. Rather, that
call is intended to focus on the Board’s plan to close out the few remaining, outstanding policy recommendations concerning second-level IGO protections that do not relate to Curative Rights. I’ve since clarified this for the Council in an email to the Council
mailing list, and will be happy to share that update with the IRT as well.
Thanks and cheers
Mary

Thanks for this Karen. A couple of questions:
Can you let us know what you will be saying to the Council about our work?
It was a little odd to see this on the Council's agenda for a special call.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
Jeff

Hello all,
Apologies as we intended to send an explanation before canceling with a bit more on the background work. We concur re: the positive progress during the Prague meetings and that has enabled us to work since then on drafting the updated
language in the UDRP and URS. We were aiming to have that ready for you all to review in advance of the meeting next week, but did not believe the draft was quite there yet in context of the overall framework of the policy and rules. We are aiming to reschedule
the call for early August. The overall timeline of the project has not changed.
Best regards,
Karen (on behalf of the team)

Brian,
With all due respect, if you read the 2016 update closely, you will see that the IGO acronyms such as .au, .ec, .eu, .ac, and .un are exempted from that because they are IGO Acronyms. So ICANN has not dealt with those.
And with respect to the other IGOs, the GAC Advice, though called a moratorium of registrations, is actually a misnomer. A moratorium of registrations pre-supposes that the registration of those acronyms were at one point allowed and
are now stopped. This is in reality a moratorium on the implementation of the 2014 GNSO policy.
But regardless, as you stated, the main point is that we move forward.
ICANN Ord?
Sincerely,
