To: *ICANN ATRT2 Team* ** Please find below comment from the ISPCP Constituency. Kind regards Tony Harris Vice-Chair, ISPCP *ISPCP comment to the ATRT2 team* The ISPCP would like to follow up the comments made during the GNSO session in Durban with the ATRT2 team with a written statement, as requested. **** ** ** It is the view of the ISPCP that the recommendations made by the WHOIS Review Team have yet to be effectively implemented. **** ** ** Members of the ISPCP Constituency along with many others in the GNSO worked for many years to try and reach an agreed solution to many of the controversial issues surrounding WHOIS. For a variety of reasons progress within those groups was minimal. The WHOIS Review team that was formed under ATRT1 successfully managed to achieve agreement on a significant number of points and against that long and difficult background, failure to effectively implement the recommendations made by the WHOIS Review Team was particularly notable.**** ** ** Whilst the ISPCP fully recognises and supports the recent activities on the Next Generation gTLD Directory Services model, that should not have resulted in a reluctance by the Board to implement a set of recommendations that would significantly improve the current situation. There appears to be no other reason why a delay in implementing those recommendations should be considered acceptable.**** ** **
