I checked with the secretariat and it looks like we could do a buffet dinner (with a glass of wine included) for $80/person, where people would be able to mingle around rather than doing a seated dinner. They had previously looked at a bunch of options in the local area but for a group of 30+ people the $83 for seated or $80 for buffet was the best price they could find since most places require catering for a group of our size.

Do others have preferences as regards to seated dinner vs. buffet with mingling?

Manal, thank  you for sharing your thoughts.
In my experience seated dinners only allow for a very limited interaction. An option would be preferable where free "mingling" is possible to maximise interaction.

Thought it may be useful to post this in a separate thread ..
Just want to echo a few thoughts that were shared in call#5 chat room regarding ICG dinner ..
·         Agree to benefits of having an ICG social event /informal gathering ..
·         Agree with those who felt the dinner is a bit expensive ..
·         Will still join if no other options are feasible ..
·         Agree to keep it an ICG dinner to encourage communication and engagement among ICG members ..

Kind Regards
--Manal
