We have talked now and again about providing a centralized web site where anyone could go to find information about all of the community processes where transition work is taking place. I’m wondering if we could start standing this up before the IGF so that we have a place to point people to when we’re there.
From the protocol parameters side, the IETF already has a dedicated page with most of the relevant links: <http://www.ietf.org/iana-transition.html>. Perhaps the one missing link is the draft charter of the IETF working group that is forming to work on the transition proposal: <http://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/charter-ietf-ianaplan/>. We could copy those two links over to the centralized portal or take some selection of the ones on the dedicated page and post them on the portal page.
I know there are similar pages some of the RIRs are using (e.g., <http://www.lacnic.net/pt/web/lacnic/iana-transicion>). Do the RIR folks think we could gather up the right links and information within a week or so? Could the folks participating in the CCWG on the names side do the same? And any others who are participating in other processes that have been started? Do the secretariat folks think we could get a simple page stood up with separate sections for these links and information next week? Thanks, Alissa

As the shared pages has details on community process for stakeholders consultations/engagement, I suggest to name page to be named/labeled "IANA Proposal Development". The new page can have text describing how interested parties can contribute to proposal development beside the links to different links to communities processes. This new page link could be added to the RFP for reference. Kind Regards, Mohamed

Dear All, There are so many exchange of e-mails that ,sometimes, it is difficult to trace the issue raised. I think Milton raise an important points about some sort os inconsistencies between paragraphs 1 and 2 and suggested a reconcilement between the two. I agree with him that if we recognized that the process should be inclusive, open ,transparent and democratic, it is not appropriate that we limit the actions and comments to only three operational communities, if there is not consensus with other communities and/or sub-communities and the three operational communities. I therefore agree ,to a great extent to Milton, that ,if there is no consensus between the views of either of three communities, on the one hand, and the views of other communities or sub-communities, on an issue, then the minority views should be forwarded to and considered by the ICG with a view to find, in an appropriate manner, to reflect the matter. Ok, my suggestion is that we have a dedicated page that contains a blurb or two about how to participate in the existing processes, together with the links to more information about those processes. A suggested format is below. Can someone from names send the link(s) for the CCWG and any other relevant info? Does someone from numbers want to write a short blurb to explain how to engage in the RIR processes? If there are other processes that any of you think should be highlighted in the last section below, please send links and blurbs to the list. As the respective Cross Community Working Group has not been formed yet there is no mailing list or wiki site yet. Very good initiative, Alissa. People are already starting to write about this and it is increasingly incongruous to present the ICG as an independent (of ICANN) initiative but have to constantly refer to ICANN-run websites as the authoritative source of information about it.
