In the Consent Agenda for the next GNSO Council call, october 10, there is a proposal to formally close the projet "fake renewal notices" since no further GNSO activity is foreseen in the near future.

The problem is left in the hands of the registrars.  During the call it was discussed very briefly.

hi Wolf-Ulrich and Osvaldo

was there any discussion of the Fake Renewal Notices issue in the Council meeting?  i noticed that it has been put on hold in the Consent Agenda.  my recollection was that Mason Cole was going to run with that one and come back to the Council with a plan for what to do about those.  did he ever do that?
