ISPCP Conference Call - 3 August 2010
·
Vertical Integration
An update on progress within the WG was
provided by Tony Harris. The 138 page report reflects the diversity of
positions. In general the ISPCP position aligns with the RACK+ proposal within
the consultation document which is now out for comment with a deadline of 12th
August. If any proposal to allow vertical integration is accepted one of the
major issues will be on-going compliance. This has not been fully addressed
within the report. Because of the tight timescale Tony Harris will produce a
draft response from the ISPCP and circulate for comment (response required from
ISPCP members by 9th August). If no comments are received Tony Harris
will then submit the report on behalf of the Constituency, or amend the report
and submit as appropriate.
·
GNSO Council issues
Relevant issue for the next GNSO council
call (5 Aug) were discussed with the main focus on the proposed resolution on
WHOIS studies. This seeks the postponement of further work on WHOIS
studies until all possible studies have been fully analyzed and prioritised
once again. The ISPCP will oppose this motion and all attempts to further delay
progress and changes to WHOIS. It was confirmed that the ISPCP will support
going ahead with studies that would result in increased accuracy.
·
AoC update and support for SSR
and WHOIS WG candidates
A conference call is scheduled for 4 Aug
when ISPCP members will join with other CSG constituencies for an open
discussion with candidates who identify with the CSG. Following this the CSG
will need to determine who they will support as the process moves forward. All
members were urged to participate in this call. Further discussion of
individual candidates capabilities and personal standing will not be conducted
across the ISPCP list, but members were encouraged to submit views to the
Chairman/Secretariat, CSG Officers and GNSO Councillors following the CSG call.
·
NomCom appointee for 2010-2011
The ISPCP have been requested to nominate a
representative for the 2010-2011 NomCom process.
Tony Holmes has been nominated to serve a
second term following the end of the 1009-2010 process, but other nominations
are also welcome with a cut off date of August 9th. The Chairman
will flag this to the ISPCP list.
·
Date of next ISPCP call;
23rd August at 14.00UTC
This call will be chaired by Tony Harris
