Dear colleagues,

we just had a CSG call with Dan Reed as a potential nominee for this election which is to be done by the Non Contracted Parties House (NCPH) within the GNSO. Tony Holmes and myself participated in the call. Attendance and mp3 recording see attached.

As you know Dan at the time being is one of the NomCom appointees (NCA) to the GNSO Council.

I’d like to share with you my impressions from this call.

Questions to Dan were raised regarding

- strengthening the communication to the entire NCPH

- accountability of ICANN

- his experience in an international environment and his so far engagement and contributions related to the ICANN “business”

- his vision re the future internet “control”

Dan mentioned that he had already applied for the board through the NomCom process.

My personal impression of how he took the questions and of his understanding of the complex ICANN issues is very positive. I’m sure he’s a reliable and open-minded person where we can build trust with.

I’ll keep you updated with the follow-up steps within the CSG and the House.
