a major research project aimed at developing tools and techniques to identify and mitigate name-collision risks was announced yesterday by Verisign.  i wrote a blog post that describes the name-collision problem and encourages researchers to get involved with that research effort.  please promote that project to your colleagues.  i've added the link to the "handy links" at the bottom of this note.
