Presentation about CJK Coordination Committee
Dear CJK GP colleagues, CJK GPs will collectively present the status of our coordination to the public audience on Wednesday 21 October in ICANN Dublin meeting. I drafted the slides for that as attached. As far as I know, no substantial coordination outcome has been made regarding the RootLGR per se after Buenos Aires. Instead of that, two letters to ICANN, which were suggested in Buenos Aires meetings, have been mostly drafted by Wang Wei and me. Seeing this situation, my idea becomes that we use this "CJK coordination committee update slot" to pose these letters (= proposals) to the audience and solicit their (preferably positive) feedback - at least explain the existence of the problems to the audience out of CJK. Of course we CJK will discuss about the letters (= proposals) in the meetings on Sunday 18 and Monday 19 October, which is before the presentation about CJK Coordination Committee. Happy to have your comments on the tactics and on the slides themselves. Wang Wei, could you elaborate one slide of the content of your letter? I will do the same for second slide. Regards, Hiro
Dear Hotta San, Thank you for your coordination. I support your idea. Getting feedback from the floor is important for the process of public consultation. Regards Kenny Huang On 12 October 2015 at 19:23, HiroHOTTA <hotta@jprs.co.jp> wrote:

Dear Hiro and colleagues, I have just proofread the slides and found several minor possible edits and some (indicated * below) that could be resolved in more than one way: S3 Each of CJK has thousands of Han characters. -> * Each CJK script/language uses thousands of Han characters. Variant definition is different in different languages -> * Variant definitions/sets are different in the different languages Some combination of characters are prohibited in Chinese strings All combination of characters are allowed in Japanese strings -> Some combinations of characters are prohibited in Chinese strings All combinations of characters are allowed in Japanese strings S4 (in a formal way) -> (formal) (as shown in the previous page) -> (as shown on the previous slide) experience on Han character domain names -> experience of Han character domain names S6 Devising WLE with crafted definition -> * Devising WLEs with a dedicated/an amended definition artifices -> artifice Proposal for coordination between RootLGR and application evaluation panel (i.e., human intervention) is being devised. Proposal for an algorithm encapsulating RootLGR and being empowered to accept 2 or more applied-for strings is being devised. -> A proposal for coordination between the Root LGR and the application evaluation panel (i.e., human intervention) is being devised. Proposal for an algorithm encapsulating the Root LGR and empowered to accept 2 or more applied-for strings is being devised. Dear CJK GP colleagues, I appreciate your comments I've received. I revised the ppt file reflecting them as attached. Please receive the attached ppt as the final draft that will be proposed to our Oct.18 CJK-only meeting. I borrowed Wang Wei's figure in his draft letter to ICANN and put it into this ppt (see page-7). as well as my figure (see page-8). See you in Dublin!
