Was quite important to attend the meeting today with the "Seat 15" candidates.
Even as a member of BCEC, when I had the opportunity to individually interview each candidate and select these 4 candidates for a final selection by ALAC, today I learned a lot from each candidate.
The meeting was recorded, and I suggest that if you had no chance to attend, then listen the interviews.
AT LARGE for many years did not have a member on the Board.
I had a chance to be a liaison from ALAC to the Board, but liaisons did not vote, so you certainly could influence, but your value is lower than the others.
Nowadays, after years of struggling to get it, we got the SEAT 15 to ALAC.
So, electing a person to this position is of great relevance to us!!!.
Before you state your ranking of preference about each candidate, that will be sent to you, read the below statements, and listen the interviews.
Please take it with responsibility since the person will be us there, defending our views and the views of end users.

As you may know, Leon Sanchez is term-limited as the ICANN Director Selected by At-Large and the process to name his replacement is ongoing.
The candidates are (in alphabetical order by surname): Sebastien Bachollet, Justine Chew, Maureen Hilyard and Lito (Rafael) Ibarra.
The candidate’s Statements as well as their Expressions of Interest (their application forms) have been posted.
There will be two public ways to interact with the candidates.

You may ask questions that will be answered in writing and posted. Questions may be targeted at all candidates, or particular candidates. Candidates are not obliged to respond,
but historically, they do. Questions may be merged with others if they are on the same topic, or otherwise edited by the chair/members of the Board Member Selection Process Committee (BMSPC).
Please specify if a question is for a specific candidate(s).
- There will be a public Candidates’ meeting, most likely at the end of the week of 09 February 2026. Each candidate will be asked to respond to a few questions. If you have a suggestion for these questions, please let us know.
