retomo el tema del voto sobre el borrador de llamado de ALAC en relación con los nuevos gTLDs.
Es de importancia leer los comentarios que otros han vertido en la página Web en la que se consigna el borrador,https://community.icann.org/display/alacpolicydev/Updated+ALAC+advice+on+gTL... con contribuciones de personas como Avri Doria.
El contexto actual más amplio viene dado por las voces fundamentalmente de EU - privadas y públicas - que se han expresado a favor de que ICANN altere radicalmente los acuerdos alcanzados hasta ahora y vuelva sustancialmente más lento el ingreso de nuevos gTLDs. El diario New York Times editorializa al respecto y habla de una prueba piloto.
Si ven las contribuciones de colegas como Bret Fausett y otros, en Twitter por ejemplo, y las que ya mecioné en la página de la propuesta, algunos de Uds. pueden llegar a la conclusión de que votar a favor del borrador de ALAC es negar la historia de participación de nuestras organizaciones en el largo proceso de apertura de gTLDs. Quienes hemos tenido enormes reservas, quienes se han opuesto plenamente, y quienes lo han impulsado hemos tenido todas las oportunidades para darle forma y proponer, en particular, un ingreso más gradual de gTLDs que el que se prevé en el programa que empieza en unos 15 o 20 días.
Pienso por ello que hay que tener argumentos muy claros para hacer un esfuerzo en la última trinchera para bajarse del carro y oponerse a su avance. Los puede haber pero deben ser NUESTROS argumentos, imbuidos por esa larga historia.
¿Los hay? ¿Cuáles son? ¿Quiénes los expresan?

*Estimados*: La unica herramienta actual que permite la mejor comunicacion en los dos idiomas es la lista de LACRALO, por tener traduccion instantanea (con sus aciertos y ....). Pero queda abierto el dialogo para propuestas nuevas como la de Sergio para que debatamos si son mejores o no. Mientras tanto y como no queda mucho tiempo para este tema usemos la lista.

En la llamada mensual de ALAC del día de ayer se pidió que se discuta en cada RALO sobre el ALAC STATEMENT ON THE NEW GTLDS.
Habrá una llamada de ALAC el 6 de enero de 2012 donde se tratará el tema.
En la lista se estuvo discutiendo sobre el tema, especificamente sobre "interés público". Sería bueno que se genere un debate en la lista para poder llevar la opinion de LACRALO a esa llamada.
