I have been following the arguments on the list and would wish to make these observations.
Sylvia is right. For better or worse, these elections will be executed under existing LACRALO ROP.
Under existing rules, it is the LACRALO Secretariat that has the responsibility for the election process and to conduct elections; make the call and report the timetable per ROP, report the nominated candidates per ROP, recommend other electioneering events per advice from membership, report the election results. Note, Secretariat actions are bounded by the ROP.
I support the call for candidates to publish a manifesto which will be a referent document for 'meet the candidates' events in the election cycle.
