Re: [lac-discuss-en] [lac-discuss-es] Tema CROP
[[-- Translated text (es -> en) --]] Dear Harold, I still have not had an answer to my last question on this topic. And precisely in the meeting at this moment at ICANN 79 they are talking about the importance of NetMundial+10, and there is a working group of which you are part. Opinions were also expressed about our convenient participation in that meeting. Please, could you answer me? I can tell you that for the World Net event something similar happens to the IGF, that is, it is not in the priority range to finance participation from the ICANN crop. The crop focused on dissemination, strengthening and regional participation that could even attract more people to the ecosystem and in the case of these global events there is already a public fully involved in these ecosystems. As you know, the IGF and other global forums are no longer an activity in which we can use the crop a few years ago, we have to review that in the activity calendar. We must check strategies for regional inclusion or reinforcement of the countries we have. Let's talk more about this in the list and move between our monthly times because these strategy topics fall short when we try to build them only in the monthly meetings. See you in a while at the meeting, today with the topic we were reviewing in the regional list👍🏼 RDRS Greetings Sent through my H device. Dear Alberto, all Regrettably I have been ill for the past few days so I am now catching up with the various issues, I am unaware of any board decision made regarding the use and award of CROPP funds. The bottom line however is that the deadline for submission is June 30, 2024 and we have to move quickly so as to avoid losing the opportunity. I will suggest to Harold and the management team that we quickly develop a clear, transparent process that will facilitate the application and award of funds. I am going to recommend that the criteria for selection and award of funds be available to all members of the RALO along with the list of submissions. Hopefully this can be actioned soon after ICANN79 and therefore address all concerns raised. Regards Lance
+1. Guidance is necessary. Unless this was changed by persons unknown, CROPP funding is designed to advance Outreach and Engagement activities in service of the ICANN remit. In the old days, two (2) activities were funded per RALO. The decision about what activity - and activist! - gets funded must be guided by a clear and transparent process at RALO level. It is the responsibility of the *elected* leadership to develop the process and criteria for all to be guided.
