Colegas y amigos,

las discusiones durante la reunión de ICANN en Praga están tocando asuntos sustantivos.

En particular atraigo su atención al RAA, a Whois, y a retención de datos.

Ojalá José, Sergio y Sylvia, presentes en las sesiones y que tienen responsabilidades en esta comunidad, puedan adelantarnos lo que se discute en el marco de las relaciones y debates en los órganos de ALAC con los que están en contacto.

Con eso podríamos adelantar un ciclo en lugar de esperar a la reunión de octubre y la posterior, que es muy lejana (abril), para cumplir nuestras tareas. Éstos son temas de elevado interés para los usuarios de Internet o al menos para los registrantes de nombres de dominio.

Añado que Sergio ha presentado la posición de que los servicios lingüísticos necesitan crecer ya que la falta de un lenguaje común en LACRALO hace imposible la comunicación en algunas ocasiones, sobre todo en referencia a la traducción automática. Expreso mi discrepancia con esa posición, ya que con algo de voluntad se transmite mucho del contenido y siempre está disponible el original para acudir a él con otras herramientas de traucción (sin negar que a veces casi me mata la risa leyendo algunos efectos delirantes de la traducción automática).

Creo que vamos a necesitar esfuerzos muy superiores a los de la lectura de las traducciones automáticas para poder resolver los problemas de nuestra comunidad. Hagamos al menos éste para animarnos.
