Policy working group and team updates small* *PDP1 DNS Abuse Mitigation: Domain Name Verification Associates* The PDP on mitigating DNS abuse has formally begun and is already underway. It is in an active discussion phase and the talks have focused on the following axes: - Q1: Conditions that trigger the review of associated domains, in relationship with RAA 3.18 / 3.18.2, including the relationship between evidence actionable and mitigation actions. - Q2: Definition of “associated domains” and linking criteria (without closed list). - Q3: Scope of “reasonable inquiry” by registries and registers (under development). - The risk of applying measures to domains was also addressed linked without clear criteria, particularly in relation to the possible extension of liability by association. *Access to registration data (SSAD SRT / RDRS)* - The SSAD SRT is in the process of reconsidering the model of access to registration data, after the original recommendations failed to progress In its proposed form, in this context, the RDRS experience is being considered as a reference for the ongoing analysis. Discussions continue regarding access to registration data and the protection of personal data, particularly in relation to services of privacy/proxy. *Preparing for the next round of gTLDs (SubPro / ASP)* - The SubPro IRT continues to make progress in implementing the Guide of Applicant for the 2026 round. - Adjustments were reviewed in areas such as TMCH (Information Center of Trademarks), Specification 14 and name collision, as well as issues related to the Applicant Support Program (ASP), including the level of financial support and transparency in the use of funds from the 2012 round auctions. 4. Other policy processes - The PDP on Latin diacritics is progressing towards its Initial Report, with a limited scope that does not reopen existing policies. - The PPSAI IRT continues to address implementation aspects related to privacy/proxy services. - Other groups (EPDP-IDNs, TPR-PDP, RDA) remained listed in agenda as Inactive or N/A, without further discussion. *5. Policy Statements* - *Community Priority Assessment (CPE) – Assessment Guide*, with emphasis on the need for greater clarity, consistency, and more rationale detailed in decision-making. - *Draft guidelines to advance Universal Acceptance (UA)*, the The conversation is shifting towards the impact on the end user, including usability, digital inclusion, and the need for metrics specific ones to evaluate progress. *6. Other topics: ICANN86 Planning* - In preparation for ICANN86, possible topics were considered for intercommunity sessions, including applicant support services (ASP) and the Impact of artificial intelligence on DNS abuse. - The At-Large plenary sessions are still in preparation.
