Dear Alejandro, I do note that the https://community.icann.org/x/8xSMAg was updated over the weekend and I note that it will likely be discussed on the ALAC call today. The deadline for replies to this comment period is November 1 2013 (see http://www.icann.org/en/news/public-comment/igo-ingo-final-20sep13-en.htm). The ICANN NGPC will likely review all of the comments and the GNSO final report and decide accordingly very soon after November 1 2013. I do think the ALAC statement reflects the concerns mentioned on the list regarding that "granting blocking levels protections may prohibit other reasonable uses of the same strings, and is not satisfied that the exception procedures outlined in the report would be effective." Given that there wouldn't be any time afterwards to issue an alternative statement in time to make a meaningful impact, I do intend to support the statement if the motion is called to approve the statement for submission to the ICANN Board during the ALAC call today. +1. While the language I prefer would be be more direct, I believe the statement as drafted expresses the common position of unease. This also highlights the use of the wiki - where the draft statement is published - for comments. Do remember the statement reflects the consensus position.
