Re: [lac-discuss-en] NetMundial Initiative
[[--Translated text (es -> en)--]] Subject: Re: NetMundial Initiative From: rihogris@gmail.com Good afternoon, if reviewed the statement of the Board of ISOC Global, encontrarn they estn not indicating that there will participate in the initiative, only wish have more information in the same, although this involves two actors Previous World Net, as ICANN and CGI.br own, this time includes the World Economic Forum, actor who had not been present until this year Internet debates. It is not a genuine representative of Companies, as is not elected by them, although groups a significant number of personalities and companies. Some of the questions raised in the present decision are: - By quuna top down initiative when decisions ?, Internet are taken from the bottom up (IETF, IGF, ICANN, etc.) - By quotra initiative ?, we have a similar initiative is the IGF, which represented estn all communities. I particularly understand that the biggest difference so far between IGF-World Net (which is not the same initiative) is the document Finally, with actions to be taken and agreements, if the Prximo IGF is already in Brazil, it is preferable to fix the IGF to produce a document agreements, and adding instead of subtracting. Each new reunin significardinero and effort of all organizations who want to be present, we have those resources ?, I think the answer is no, for NGOs, particularly those of you passes in development, which would leave the mercy of a few with money (or Big Government Corporations) the possibility of being the only voice this, and I think, is what worst thing that can happen. I invite you to better read the press ISOC and not put in words decisions have not taken, and instead serve MUST reflexina most of life in ALS LACRALO do.
