Meikal,
I accept your suggested changes, but I do not see the value of "THE WORK GUIDING (...) THE GPS WEBSITE URL" for Eberhard Lisse (and I do not know what the GPS website is). EL sent a very short
question and I think he wants a short answer.
My suggestion with Meikal's updates is:
<ANSWER>
Eberhard,
The Latin script community consists of all people that read or write a language in an alphabet derived from the alphabet used for the Latin language, usually including a-z but also including
other characters added after the Roman time for other languages, e.g. for the German language.
The purpose of the Latin script Generation Panel is to create a proposal specifying which characters from the Latin script may be used in future top-level domain names, besides a-z which are
already allowed.
This work is done in parallel with other Generation Panels for other Unicode scripts, e.g. Cyrillic script (e.g. Russian) and Hangul script (Korean).
</ANSWER>
Yours,
Mats

Dear Mats,
some minor suggestions for changes in BOLD and inline below.
Meikal
My proposal:
<ANSWER>

THE WORK GUIDING THIS PROCESS HOWEVER HAS DEFINED FURTHER RESTRICTIONS ON WHAT KIND OF USE BY WHAT KIND OF LANGUAGE MAY BE INCLUDED IN THE FUTURE STANDARD, SUCH AS WIDE-SPREAD CONTEMPORARY USE. YOU CAN FIND FURTHER INFORMATION IN THE DOCUMENTS
AND LINKS CITED ON THE GPS WEBSITE URL.

Dear all,
The Latin script community has formed the Latin script Generation Panel (GP), which is developing a
Proposal for the Latin Script Root Zone Label Generation Rules, following
the
LGR Procedure and based on the
proposal and work
plan developed by the Latin GP.
The Latin GP has drafted its guiding principles to determine the code point repertoire for inclusion in the root zone LGR proposal and to determine the variant code points. The
principles are being posted for public comments to allow the GP members to get feedback from the language and technical communities as the GP undertakes the tasks of repertoire and variant code point analysis. Based on the feedback, the Latin script GP will
finalize the principles to guide its work.
Please review the following documents and send feedback to
LatinGP@icann.org by 23 October 2017.
We look forward to your comments. For further details visit the Latin GP
wiki page.
Regards,
Latin GP
