Please allow me to share some information from the records we have.

 

  • In October 2020, the package version 5, dated 23 October 2020 was sent to the IP with the GP’s agreement that Appendix E was not finalized but was included for information. Please refer the email with subject line “Voting: Lain LGR package version 5 - about Confusables”.
  • After version 5 was shared, the GP continue discussing the Appendix E in Nov 2020. As concluded in the GP meeting on 11 Nov 2020, the update on appendix E was done by ICANN staff (Pitinan) as instructed. These changes were included in the version 6 package, dated 29 April 2021.
  • IP has responded on version 6 in two emails.
  • With agreement from the GP chair, Pitinan has update the documents based on IP feedback if it is editorial or straightforward for the GP’s consideration. For feedback that need further discussion with the GP will be put on the meeting agenda.
  • Appendix E was mentioned again during the call on 15 July 2021, while the GP discussed IP feedback on v.6. Bill volunteered to update the Appendix E with any effects from the Greek RZ-LGR proposal. The updated is included in version 7, and same file was included in version 7.1 for public comment.

Hi guys, 

 

Perhaps someone can refresh my memory here.  I didn't see any comments from the IP, after the last couple of versions, regarding Appendix E.  And I don't recall ANY discussions in our meetings this summer about it.  

 

Yet at some point, between Version 5 and the LGR that is out for public comment, Appendix E got drastically revised.  Can someone tell me when (if) we discussed these changes?  Or who made them?

This file was also shared via the mailing list on 16 August 2021 (or perhaps 15 Aug in your time zone), subject line: Latin script RZ-LGR v.7 dated 15 Aug 2021.  I’m resending the email to you on a separate email for your information.

 

In that email you will see two files related to Appendix E; 1) Appendix E v.7 and 2) Appendix E v.7-vs-v.6. That’s the last edit on Appendix E. There is no further change from v.7 to v7.1.

Please see the “Proposals For Your Input” section on the page. That section lists four files, the first one is the Appendices (for technical reason, it is listed as the first one). As it is a zip file, when you click on it, it won’t have the preview view in the browser but the browser should download it to your computer.
