Overview:
The panel / this gathering is a prelude to the upcoming 60th public meeting of ICANN (‘ICANN60 ‘) which will take place for
the first time in Abu Dhabi next month from the 28th October – 3rd November 2017.
ICANN is the platform where the world’s Internet technical community gathers to coordinate key resources that make the Internet function,
chiefly domain names, and associated numbers and protocols.
Over the past three years the Internet has been undergoing historical changes. From the rollout of new domains, known as generic Top
Level Domains (‘new gTLDs’) such as .abudhabi, representing one of the biggest changes to the Internet since its inception, to the shaping of the Internet’s future through a major evolution in its governance via an empowered global community.
The panel will be an opportunity to learn from some local and international experts about ICANN60 as well as an occasion to discuss
the current hot topics present today in the Internet ecosystem, and potential business opportunities.
