Overview:
The panel / this gathering is a prelude to the upcoming 60th public meeting of ICANN (‘ICANN60 ‘) which will take place for the first time in Abu Dhabi next month from the 28th October – 3rd November 2017.
ICANN is the platform where the world’s Internet technical community gathers to coordinate key resources that make the Internet function, chiefly domain names, and associated numbers and protocols.
Over the past three years the Internet has been undergoing historical changes. From the rollout of new domains, known as generic Top Level Domains (‘new gTLDs’) such as .abudhabi, representing one of the biggest changes to the Internet
since its inception, to the shaping of the Internet’s future through a major evolution in its governance via an empowered global community.
The panel will be an opportunity to learn from some local and international experts about ICANN60 as well as an occasion to discuss the current hot topics present today in the Internet ecosystem, and potential business opportunities

Thank you for being member of UAE chapter, I have received many emails asking about the chapter activities
I just want to clarify that we are the only accredited ISOC chapter in UAE and we are working on forming process to be legal entity
Our chapter was started in 2007 under the name of Emirates internet group and due lack of participation we stopped our activities in 2009 at the same time a small number of members are still working with ISOC, we have faced many challenges to make our group as a legal entity but we didn't give up, Finally had a chance to register our chapter officially in the Dubai Association Center that's why I'm sending this email to our members to participate and calibrate to achieve ISOC goals
Personally I have attended many conferences within our field the last conference was MENOG in Muscat last April and I have found that we have great opportunity to serve the community UAE
