Hi Farzaneh,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback. I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into outlining these points and continuing the dialogue we started earlier.

I fully agree with the areas you highlighted, particularly the three points you mentioned. If we are able to clarify or work through these points, it will greatly help us move forward more effectively. Our meeting today will be followed by several additional meetings, where we will ensure that all voices are heard and taken into consideration.

Moving forward, we’ll continue working closely together to make improvements and ensure everything progresses in the right direction.
Best regards,
Amin Hacha

Dear Abdalmonem and Amin,

Thank you for organizing the upcoming meeting.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend in full due to travel, though I may try to briefly connect. Still, I wanted to contribute to the conversation we’ve been having around reviving the ME Space and clarifying its structure moving forward.

At this stage, I am genuinely unclear on the distinction between the ME Space and the MEAC-SWG. Which is my fault as I have not paid careful attention. But my questions are: Are the MEAC-SWG and ME Space intended to function as separate entities, or have they effectively been consolidated? If so, I believe it would be helpful to formally acknowledge that and proceed with a unified structure.

To support better engagement and sustainability of this space, I’d like to propose that we begin work on the following:

  1. Membership Intake & Visibility
Let’s clarify who is a member, how new members join, and how that information is communicated.

  2. Formation of Sub-Groups
We should be clear on sub-groups. We can talk about small, goal-driven sub-groups under the ME Space umbrella to work on key focus areas (e.g. DNS Abuse and Human Rights, policy tracking, outreach). I am not suggesting separate mailing lists or anything that is too resource intensive, but a lightweight process would do.

  3. Charter Revision
It might be time to revise the ME Space charter to reflect our current reality, especially. This includes roles, decision-making processes, and communication standards and considering an election and member intake.

If the group agrees, I’d be happy to volunteer (along with others) to support the chairs in revising the charter and addressing any structural or procedural issues that may be causing confusion or barriers to participation.

Thanks again, and I look forward to seeing where this discussion leads.

Best regards,

Farzaneh
