Dear Colleagues,
I hope this message finds you well.
Thank you once again for your valuable time and commitment to contributing to the ICANN84 statement on
“Emerging Technologies and the Role of RIRs.” Your willingness to support this effort is greatly appreciated.
Following extensive discussions and research, we’ve noted that the topic of emerging technologies covers a broad range of areas—such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and others. While all of these are significant, many fall outside
the direct scope of ICANN’s mission.
To ensure our efforts are both impactful and aligned with ICANN’s remit, we propose narrowing our focus to
one emerging technology that intersects meaningfully with ICANN’s responsibilities.
This will serve as a solid starting point for raising awareness and, subsequently, developing a well-informed statement and recommendations.
As a potential starting point, we would like to suggest the topic:
“Harnessing AI to Strengthen DNS Abuse Mitigation”
— a subject we believe aligns well with ICANN’s scope while reflecting the growing importance of emerging technologies.
Should you have any questions, concerns, , please feel free to reach out at your convenience.
Wishing you a pleasant day ahead.
Warm regards,
ME-Space Co-Chairs.
Thanks a lot.
All the Best,
