Thank you so much for all you did so far for this community despite our lack of responsiveness. You did a great job keeping the community together.
It seems like I missed my chance to nominate you. Which I totally understand and can’t burden you with the work load and such tired and unenthusiastic crowd that we are. We did very well under your leadership. You kept us together. I hope we become more active (I am at fault as well, not blaming others, unfortunately I can’t be as active at ICANN due to other professional engagements).

So Middle East, are we going to be more active? What is the plan?

We circulated the call for nomination for the role of co-chairs of the Middle East Space.
Unfortunately, there was no nominations, no interest, even to nominate the current co-chairs for a second term.
Hence, we put back the Space in the hands of MEAC-SWG for their consideration as we can’t continue with our role beyond our term that comes to end on 31 December 2020.
We hope that next year brings the community back to track.

With accordance to ME Space Charter, the current co-chairs term will come to an end by December 31st after being 2 years in this role.

This email acts as call for nomination. Each community member can nominate any member of the community including the current leading team members. Self-nominations are also accepted.

The nomination period will close on Dec 21st. Please send your nomination to this list by the deadline of 21 December at 23:59 UTC.

At the closure of the nomination period, the list of candidates will be announced.

If the number of candidates is greater than the required (2), an election process is initiated and a voting poll will then be open for 2 weeks to choose among the candidates the 2 most scored ones.
At the closure of the poll period, the winners will be declared the new leading team.

In case there are only 2 candidates on the slate, they are declared members of the new leading team.
