I hope my email finds you all well, this is just to let you know that the deadline for submitting the 1st
statement draft extended for an extra 3 days keeping
other dates as it is and it will be like this :-
09/3 Call for volunteers for the drafting team (6 days)
15/3 Drafting team formation & starting of the statement drafting (7 days)
25/3
First draft put for comments (7 days after the closure of ICANN 70)
05/4 Drafting the updated statement according to the comments received (3 days)
08/4 Posting of the final draft that will be discussed in the ME Space session at ICANN 70

Subject: [ME ICANN] Call for Drafting Team
Dear all,
As per the discussion on the call (2 March 2021) and on the mailing list, the 3 shortlisted Topics received the following support:
SubPro = 7 (Abdelmonem, Farzaneh, Amr, Manal, NP, Rafik and Zakir)
DNS Abuse = 4 (Nadira, Dima, Rolla and Tijani)
EPDP Ph 2 = 2 (Hadia and Chokri)
Therefore, the selected topic to be addressed in the ME Space virtual session is:
New gTLD Subsequent Procedure final report.
Of course, we will not comment on the 400 pages of the report, but will focus on parts of it. 2 aspects were mentioned:
IDN applications
Applicant support
The focus will then be put on the IDN applications and the Applicant Support only.
The new timeline is now the following taking into consideration that we will be fully involved in the ICANN 70 virtual meeting (22_25 March) during which we won’t be able to work on the statement:

22/3 First draft put for comments (7 days after the closure of ICANN 70)

This is a call for volunteers to draft the statement.
Please send your interest by Sunday 14 March. We expect volunteers not only from the 7 supporters of this topic.
