The discussion ultimately demonstrated that while the multistakeholder approach pioneered by WGIG remains relevant, it requires significant evolution to address current challenges. The question, as several speakers noted, is whether the internet governance community can summon the same innovative spirit and collaborative commitment that characterized WGIG’s original work to develop solutions for today’s more complex governance landscape.
