Dear All,
On behalf of Greg Shatan, Chair of NARALO, we are pleased to announce the 2024 election result for the position of
NARALO ALAC member (Term: 2024 AGM - 2026 AGM).
The NARALO electorate was asked to vote to select an ALAC Member for a two-year term beginning at the end of the ICANN81 Annual General Meeting. Please order candidates (order is
initially randomized) in the list below by clicking the up and down arrows so that your most desired candidate is at the top of the list and your least desired candidate is at the bottom of the list.
NARALO ALAC Seat Election explanation
Since there were more than two candidates, the practice in NARALO is to have electors rank the candidates and use the SIngle Transferable Vote methodology. The number of Rank=1 votes
for each candidate is tallied and the candidate with the least is eliminated. For each ballot, the Ranks are adjusted removing the votes for the eliminated candidate and moving up other candidates if necessary. So if a voter ranked the eliminated candidate
as Rank=1, the candidate who they ranked=2 is now moved up to Rank=1. And the process is continued until there are only two candidates and a winner is declared. If there is a tie, as per NARALO Rules of Procedure 2.3.5, the NARALO Chair casts a vote.
