On behalf of NARALO leadership, I would like to announce that the 2023 call for nominations for NARALO leadership positions is now open.

Positions Open:

·       ALAC Member (NARALO)

·       NARALO Secretariat

·       Delegate to the NomCom (NARALO)

 

Please refer to the 2023 NARALO Elections, Selections and Appointments workspace for a comprehensive list of all available positions and whether current holders of the positions are eligible for re-selection.

 

Terms:

·       ALAC and RALO Leadership: Terms for the ALAC and RALO Leadership will run from the end of the 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) to the end of the 2025 AGM.

·       ALAC Delegates to the NomCom: Voting members of the NomCom will be appointed for a one year term, starting at the close of the 2023 AGM and ending at the close of the 2024 AGM, and may be re-appointed for a further term of one year, subject to the requirements set forth in the ICANN Bylaws. NARALO may make one or more recommendations for the consideration of the ALAC; the appointment of NomCom delegates is carried out by the ALAC. The criteria for NomCom Delegates are shown on the 2023 NARALO Elections, Selections and Appointments workspace.

 

NARALO Selection Timetable for 2023:

·       13 April 2023 – Announcement of Call for Nominations. 

·       13-28 April 2023 – Nomination Period.

·       5 May 2023 – Deadline for candidates to accept nominations, submit a Candidate Statement, complete/update their SOI, and confirm they meet the qualifications for candidacy.

·       8-11 May 2023 – Call with the Candidates (to be scheduled).

·       12-19 May 2023 – Elections (If required; elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline). 

·       2023 AGM [ICANN78] – Newly elected ALAC Members and RALO Leaders will be seated at the end of the 2023 AGM, following the close of the Board Meeting on 26 September 2023.

 

Process for Nominations:

Nominations, including self-nominations, must be made by email directly to the NARALO mailing list with a copy to At-Large staff. Nominations will be recorded on the  2023 NARALO Elections, Selections and Appointments workspace.

All nominees are expected to prepare a brief Candidate Statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate, to be submitted to At-Large staff.  At-Large staff will then distribute the Candidate Statements. All nominees must also complete or update their At-Large Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace).
