Has this gone any further?  I copied below from the link.

What about what Paul suggested we focus on?  Of the below, I like the AGP/RGP ideas but rather made into a more neutral environment.  Artificial scarcity would be interesting.  I think net neutrality has been overdone already.  Since they are law students, something trademark related would be appropriate.  I'd be interested to see something come out of meshing the artificial scarcity/additional TLDs with the trademark stuff.

I move that if we have them do something, it be a positive and productive experience.

So, I've only got 'till tomorrow and I'll be offline 'till Monday for the most part.  Feel free to let me know if we are progressing on this issue...

Brainstorming:
How many students would you like assigned to this project? 1-2 students

How many hours per week would you like the student(s) to commit? 3 hours

Please describe the project in as much detail as possible, including timelines and expectations.

List the tasks that the students must complete in order to finish the project.

What is the end goal of the project?

What type of training will be offered to the students?

How often will you be available to meet with the students?

Some more details on the process..

1. First, we need to develop the project description. We should, if possible - try to come up with a list of high level activities that the student(s) might be able to do as well as the issue areas involved (internet policy, governance, etc..)

[DEADLINE] This is needs to be done on or by the end of this month. Please review and/or edit the document at the URL below. It is - urgent - we get even point form ideas added there. I'll review the document before the deadline and incorporate any comments. The project proposal can be modified after we submit it as we and the students have a better idea of what they best can help us with.

The maximum time we can get from a student is 3 hours a week, subtracting of course time around exams. So we should try to figure out if one student is enough, or if we'd like perhaps one more.

2. The project description  will be circulated during the first week of the term (end aug/sept) to new and returning law students.

We'll be notified likely in early sept (1/ half of the month) of the # of students who have expressed an interest

3. should there be a match, and i'm assuming their will be - then a faculty member will be assigned to supervise the team. Supervision is minimal at best, being likely  1-2 in person meetings here in Toronto. Since Evan and I are local, well - its simple.

4. If all goes well, then we'll have students assigned.

Personally, i would hope that one or more of the lawyers among the group could be recruited together with the NA RALO secretariat, and the Toronto locals (evan and I)  to form a student advisory group. The purpose of the group would be to help direct and advise the students.

Wow!  This is an opportunity that we just CAN'T pass up.

Although I have no time to speak of, I think we need to just *make* the time for this.

Subject: [NA-Discuss] Fwd: Placements for law students with Pro BonoStudents Canada (PBSC)

Dear NA RALO colleagues:

As you can see from the email below, Privaterra has been offered the
help of some pro-bono law students over the fall/winter. I'd like to
- share - this opportunity with NA RALO, as I think one or more law
students could prove quite helpful for us to help develop white
papers, reports and contributions to ongoing ICANN processes.

Should it be of interest, then i'd have to work with some of you to
help complete the project description and other related documents.

comments?

Robert
