Dear NARALO Members,

On behalf of Eduardo Diaz, Chair of NARALO, we would like to announce that the NARALO 2022 call for nominations is now open for positions to be filled consisting of a NARALO ALAC Member, NARALO Chair and ALAC Delegate to the NomCom. 

Positions Open:

Please refer to the 2022 ALAC and RALO Elections, Selections and Appointments Workspace and NARALO Elections page for a comprehensive list of the available positions and whether current holders of the positions are eligible for re-selection.

Terms:

• ALAC: Terms for the ALAC will run from the end of the 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) to the end of the 2024 AGM.
• NARALO Chair : Term of 2022 AGM-2024 AGM
• ALAC Delegate to the NomCom: Term of AGM 2022- AGM 2023. Note Voting members of the NomCom are appointed for a one year term, starting at the close of the 2022 AGM and ending at the close of the 2023 AGM and may be re-appointed for a further term of one year subject to the requirement under the ICANN Bylaws. Each RALO may make one or more recommendations for the consideration of the ALAC. The criteria for NomCom Delegates are shown at the end of this message.

NARALO Selection Timetable for 2022: 

Please note this year’s call for nomination for NARALO is sent out early to afford members sufficient time to consider nominations. 

• 21 March  2022 -  Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.
• 21 March  – 29 April  2022 - NARALO rules require a call of not fewer than 10 working days. In 2022 Nominations will be accepted for 30 working days-). 
• 6 May 2022  - Deadline for nomination acceptances 
• 9 May 2021  - 12  May 2022- Calls with the candidates if desired by the RALOs. 
• 13 May -  20 May 2022 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline).
• 2022 AGM [ ICANN75] - Newly elected ALAC Members and RALOs Leaders shall be seated at the end of the 2022 AGM following the close of the Board Meeting on 22 September 2022.

Process for Nominations:

1) Nominations, including self-nominations must be made directly to the NARALO mailing list; 

2) Nominations must be posted to the 2022 ALAC and RALO Elections, Selections and Appointments workspace or by sending a note to At-Large staff. 

3) A brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate and must also complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace).
