HI All,
There is only one week left to submit a project to get funded under what used to be called the Additional Budget Request but are now called Resource Requests. So now is the time if you have an idea that could enhance the multistakeholder process or expand ICANN to more people to put your ideas in
It is how we got captioning funded, gave us funding for the
indigenous Ambassador project, how we got the At Large Survey as
well as many capacity building sessions. Happy to answer any
questions people have, but do take advantage of this opportunity
as it comes once a year.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All At-Large Funding Requests will need to be submitted through completing the Online Funding request form. The deadline to submit requests to At-Large staff is 16 January 2024. At-Large Funding Requests should include activities that will make the entire At-Large community more effective in policy positions and /or advice development, operations, and engagement.
All At-Large Funding Requests
will need to be submitted through completing an online template
which will be reviewed by the OFB-WG.
The OFB-WG will review the submitted At-Large Funding Requests
based on ALAC Criteria (see below).
The OFB-WG will develop the implementation plan of any
At-Large Funding Request that is approved in collaboration with
those who developed the request.
Proposed FY25 ALAC Criteria for Additional Funding Requests:
Proposals should include activities that will make the entire
At-Large community more effective in policy positions and/or
advice development, operations, or engagement.
At-Large requests should be aligned with the FY25 At-Large
strategic priority activities, At-Large top 3 FY25 ICANN Operating
Plan and Budget priorities, and with the ICANN Strategic Plan for
fiscal years 2021-2025 with the aim of enhancing existing support
or anticipating future work.
Each request must fully explain the following:
Purpose and scope of the proposed activity
Alignment of the proposed activity with the ICANN Mission,
the ICANN Strategic Plan for fiscal years 2021-2025, the At-Large
top 3 FY25 ICANN Operating Plan and Budget priorities, and the
FY25 At-Large strategic priority activities.
Demonstrate how the proposed activity is related to
ongoing or anticipated ICANN and ALAC policy work.
Outline the expected impact of the proposed activity
Outreach activities should not be a major focus. These
activities should be discussed with the relevant GSE teams keeping
in mind the regular CROP and RALO Discretionary Funds. Examples of
activities include deep dive studies related to policy issues and
activities to improve engagement such as ICANN learn courses,
graphics, etc
Funding requests should not include compensation for the
requestor. Funds are for expenses outside the At-Large Community
Best,
Judith
